Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ] - Maxi-scooter
What's the life expectancy of the plastic guides ("cursors")?
They last really long, usually as much as the vario itself. We have customers keeping them over 30000 Km. For comparison, a conventional vario requires new guides every 5000 Km.
What's the life expectancy of the rollers (weights)?
Roller life is similar or superior to conventional variators. We suggest buying new rollers every 5000 Km for maxium performance, but many customers buy new ones every 10000 Km with little or no performance hit.
My scooter is TUNED (engine, cams, capacity, exhaust, throttle body, whatever) so i require different roller weights.
Contact us, we can provide custom roller weights so you can tune your transmission properly
Can i use different rollers in this vario? (i.e. Malossi, Polini, etc)
NO.You can't. Our rollers are completely different in size and also in shape (BARREL shape). The materials also comes from a long research and only our material has the required characteristics to work with our vario.
I have mounted you CVT FR4, done some kilometers and i see engine revs are slightly lower than freshly mounted.
Yes, that's normal, CVT FR4 requires some 500 Km break-in before full performance is achieved. Please note that roller weights in the kit are made to work correctly *after* the break-in, not *before*.
