50cc: Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ]
Domande Frequenti sul variatore 50/70/90cc
Which rear pulleys do you recommend for your CVT FR4 vario?
Can be used with any rear pulleys, every brand and model, steel or aluminium, with or without suface coatings. You should work on the rear pulleys the same way as you would with a conventional variator. The only pulleys we do not recommend are original pulleys which open non-linear.
Which belt do you recommend for your CVT FR4 vario?
You should use your favourite belt as before. CVT FR4 improves belt life, so a softer belt can be used whithout penality on belt duration.
Which front pulley (fixed) do you reccomend?
We suggest using aluminium fixed pulleys. Cooling fan MUST be installed.
How can a TGB vario work that good? roller ramps are like the original piaggio ones. That's Impossible!
The backward counter-pulley is CNC milled, this means we can shape it as we like. So we can modify the roller shape there (it is easier and cheaper) instead of working on the mobile pulley. Look at this image to better understand what we mean.
By inserting a torque driver by the way, we are already modifying the real shape of the roller ramps, making them "virtually steeper".
What's the vario performance in the long run?
This vario makes the transmission perfectly constant during all the event, no more efficiency drop during long-run use. Cursors last way longer than conventional varios, the belt last longer also.
Can i use different rollers in this vario? (i.e. Malossi, Polini, etc)
NO.You can't. Our rollers are completely different in size (20mm diameter) and also in shape (BARREL shape). The materials also comes from a long research and only this material has the required characteristics to work with our vario.
